Renowned country music icon Dolly Parton is the latest to have joined the many well to do citizens of the world to support the fight against Coronavirus with a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt University’s coronavirus research.
The legendary performer announced this on Wednesday after learning that scientists are making headway in finding a cure for the virus.
My longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who’s been involved at the Vanderbilt for many years, informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus for a cure,” she said wrote in a statement on Instagram
Dolly Paron Joins the many celebrities worldwide making contributions in various forms towards the fight against the pandemic.
Rihanna’s The Clara Lionel Foundation and Jay-Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation each have donated $1 million to Coronavirus response efforts this week.
Kylie Jenner also donated $1 million for the purchase of personal equipment for health care workers whereas Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively gave $1 million to two food charities.
In Ghana, the Church of Pentecost, Methodist Church, Assemblies of God, The Makers Church among other religious groups and institutions as well as individuals continue to support the fight of Coronavirus.
As of the early hours of Thursday, April 2, 2020, there were a total of 937,567 confirmed cases worldwide, 47,235 deaths and 194,311 recoveries.
