The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has pledged to maintain the Asomdwee Park at the commemoration of President John Evans Atta Mills.
Today marks exactly eight years of the departure of the Former president Atta Mills, a mourning activity was held at the Asomdwue park in honor of the Late President, Atta Mills.
The Ex-president John Mahama in his speech made some proclamations and pledged before the Tomb that holds the mortal remains of the Late President.
In his speech, he pleads with Ghanaians to make it a habit starting from today, marking the eighth mourning of our Late president, ‘the king of peace ‘ to live in peace and unity and in developing the country.

This he said at the Asomdwue park so that wherever the late president is, his heart and soul doesn’t get saddens.
He added by saying
“Ghanaians are crying today for a father who headed peace and unity…..today Ghanaians are crying for a nation where all opportunities will be opened to all of us and not a selected few,……today Ghanaians are crying for a nation where there will be justice for all irrespective of one’s political affiliation or ethnic origin,……today Ghanaians are crying for a nation where we shall all be equal before the law,
may God grant us this peace and unity “.
He concluded his speech by standing before the Tomb that holds the mortal remains of the late president at Asomdwue park and Pledges to continue the accomplished fight of restoring peace and unity in the country.
