The National Film Authority is partnering with the Icon Mann to organize Africa 2 America round table sessions.
The Africa 2 America forum held on March 7, 2023, at the Fairmont Century Plaza, was purposed at placing emerging media-driven African nations like Ghana and Uganda in Hollywood to develop a bilateral exchange.
The CEO of the National Film Authority, Ms Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante, was one of the African delegates present at this year’s Icon man awards week which happened in the United States of America from February 28, 2023, to March 11, 2023. The award week comprised a series of events, including Icon Mann’s ‘Africa 2 America forum.

To bring life to the Africa 2 America forum, Icon Mann partnered with the National Film Authority of Ghana and the Uganda Communications Commission. Aside from Ms Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante, the African delegates included Irene Sewankambo (Executive Director of Uganda Communications Commission, Mukiza Robert (Director General of Uganda Investment Authority) and Dr Lilly Ajarova (CEO of the Ugandan Tourism Board). Also, several studios present at the event were “Atomik Content,” “The Walt Disney Company,” “MACRO Entertainment,” and many others.

At the round table discussion, Ms Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante did a presentation on Ghana’s global potential in the film sector while touching on Ghana’s agenda to position itself as the ideal destination for shooting films in Africa. This partnership between the National Film Authority and Icon Mann is geared towards achieving one of the objectives of the Ghana Cinema Agenda, which is to attract investment into the cinema infrastructure.

Icon Mann is a media, production and management consultancy representing African Diasporic heritage. The company is a leading strategic broker for investments and enterprise within creative industries for Hollywood and media-driven African nations, cultivating a global network of creators and leaders focused on “positive narrative representation.”

This partnership is a step in the right direction as the NFA remains steadfast in its commitment to elevate Ghana’s film industry to new heights.
