SAMMY FLEX

Entertainment journalist and Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, has finally pointed out the reason why his artiste cancelled his participation in the Wolverhampton concert, slated for November 4, 2023.

He said Shatta Wale has been down with an ailment, and the organisers of the show were well informed about his condition.

Amidst the artiste’s situation, the team, according to Sammy Flex, was still pushing to hold the show until the organisers failed to meet their request to airlift Shatta Wale rather than drive so as to avoid unforeseen circumstances and ensure his safety.

Sammy Flex made these revelations in an interview with KMJ on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning on Friday.

During the conversation, he said, “The organisers were told that the gentleman is not well even days before we made the request because we wanted to do everything possible to meet the show. He didn’t want to go out of the show. Doctors were coming in to treat him, and we were just insisting that guys make sure this show happened.”

“We don’t want him to go through that stress of driving from London to Wolverhampton, and the best we could do at that stage was to airlift him so we could restore the little energy in him for the show because if you put him in a car for 4 hours and maybe not hoping so, but if he gets there stressed and the sickness activates again, he won’t be able to perform,” he narrated.

But he said the organising team failed to agree, saying they would not be able to grant the request. “And if you do that, any artiste who is thinking about his health or any management who is thinking about the safety and the life of the artiste will not compromise,” he added.

On Tuesday, October 31, Shatta Wale’s camp announced the artiste’s withdrawal from the show, indicating that the event promoters, Bizzle Entertainment, failed to meet their demand.

Sammy Flex also spoke of the role of Bizzle Entertainment was in organising the event.

According to him, “The reality is that Bizzle was not the one pulling the strings for the show, and my artiste and I knew the people who were really running the show. Bizzle’s name was used because, at the time, they thought that maybe he had been doing stuff and, knowing Shatta Wale, he would just not do with anybody, so let’s get a name that’s a little bit recognisable to front it. Bizzle was not the decision-maker in the show.”

Meanwhile, Julian Asiedu (Jagonzy), a US-based event promoter who also spoke on the show, argued that Shatta Wale was not sick and that Sammy Flex was just “sweet talking” and demonstrating PR.

Unfortunately, Sammy Flex was unable to respond to Jagonzy’s claim due to technical difficulties with the connection. The call was disconnected because the host could not hear Sammy Flex’s submission.
