The National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has said brusquely that the leadership of the NDC parliamentary group, particularly Hon. Haruna Iddrisu and Hon. Muntaka Mubarak has betrayed the party hence needs to be changed.
The young lawyer took to his Facebook page to register his displeasure a few hours after parliament approved the nomination of three NPP ministers, who were previously rejected by the minority members of parliament on the Appointment Committee. Secret voting employed on March 4, 2020, saw the 3 ministers, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, and Hawa Koomson exceed 50% of the total votes cast making them eligible for approval per the standing orders in parliament.
According to Sammy Gyamfi, the minority members and leadership of the NDC in parliament as well as the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin have betrayed and boldly defied the party’s interest and collective good and sought after their own selfish interest.

He further alleged that the speaker of parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin rode on the ticket of the NDC to gain the power to pursue his own myopic agenda whiles reiterating that the current leadership of the NDC in parliament has lost their moral authority to lead in the house and so are not fit to sit on the front bench of the NDC.
The National Communications Officer for the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi finally called on all leaders and sympathizers of the party not to give up but rather speak up to ensure the cleansing of the party for its survival and victory in the coming days.
