Residents of Sameraboi, a Cocoa growing community in the Amenfi–West Municipality of the Western Region, this Friday morning blocked major roads in the area as anger and war chants characterised a massive demonstration.
The whole town is protesting against deplorable roads which are making business and normal life inconveniently unbearable.
The residents clad in Red and Black clothes chanted war songs sending strong signals to particularly politicians.
They contend that the politicians have been insensitive to addressing age-old problem of poor roads in the area.
Some of the placards displayed read: ‘Sameraboi To Prestea Nkwanta Road, COCOBOD, Do You Recognise Us? ‘The Timber City Needs Their Roads Fixed’ among a host of others.
Sameraboi and Aowin are the leading cocoa producing districts among the 26 cocoa districts of Cocobod in the Western and Western North regions.
