Pure Akan’s Nyame Mma Festival thrills fans with culture, music and creativity

The Nyame Mma Festival, curated by celebrated Ghanaian musician Pure Akan, came off at the Alliance Française in Accra, delivering a great fusion of music, culture and creative expression.

The November 29 festival, inspired by Pure Akan’s artistic identity and cultural philosophy, offered a rich blend of live performances, visual art installations, fashion exhibitions and indigenous storytelling.

From the moment patrons entered the Alliance Française grounds, they were immersed in an atmosphere characterised by traditional aesthetics, symbolic décor and curated market spaces featuring Ghanaian designers and artisans.

Music was the heartbeat of the night, and Pure Akan’s headline performance provided fans with a spiritual and emotive journey through his catalogue, including works from Nyame Mma, Onipa Akoma and earlier projects.

Backed by a Senku Live, he delivered a powerful set filled with lyricism, chants and cultural narratives, leaving the audience in awe.

A strong lineup of supporting acts enhanced the festival’s energy. Ayisi captivated the crowd with his soulful vocals; Ko-Jo Cue delivered thought-provoking lyricism; Kelvyn Boy brought his Afro-fusion charm; Marince Omario injected an alternative, experimental vibe; and Wanlov the Kubolor added his signature socially conscious and eclectic edge.

Several emerging artistes also took the stage, showcasing the diversity of Ghana’s music scene.
