Executive Director of Oro Oil Limited, Mr Commey Nii Maxwell, has been recognised for his exceptional leadership in Ghana’s palm oil sector, receiving a citation and multiple honours at the 2025 Ghana’s Most Respected CEO Awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The citation praised Mr Commey for his transformative leadership, noting that he has “redefined the role of the modern CEO beyond profit to purpose.” It described his approach as one that “demonstrates sustainable corporate success and tangible national development” — two sides of the same coin.
The 8th edition of the awards, organised by the Business Executive Group, drew key industry leaders and dignitaries, highlighting the growing importance of private sector leadership in national economic diversification, particularly in agriculture and agro-processing.

Maxwell Commey is the Chief Executive Officer of Oro Oil Ghana Limited, an integrated agro-industrial company specialising in the cultivation and processing of oil palm in Ghana’s Eastern Region.
The company aims to become a leading sustainable palm oil producer in West Africa, driven by operational excellence, adherence to international best practices, and a strong commitment to employee welfare, customer satisfaction, and community development.
Under Mr Commey’s leadership — anchored on sound corporate governance, integrity, and strong interpersonal relationships — Oro Oil Ghana Limited has earned multiple National Gold and Silver Awards for the export of crude palm oil.
With more than 25 years of industrial experience across Europe and Africa, Mr Commey is a prominent figure in the sector. He serves on the Board of the Tree Crop Development Authority and is a National Executive Member of the Oil Palm Development Association of Ghana (OPDAG).
He is also noted for his commitment to social impact, having created more than 300 direct and indirect jobs in various communities across Ghana.
