Nima 1 Basic School wins 4th NFL flag national championship

Nima 1 Basic School won the 2025 NFL Flag National Championship after defeating Benevolent Child in the final. The team will represent Ghana at the African Championship.

The 4th edition of the NFL Flag National Championship took place at the University of Ghana Rugby Stadium, featuring Under-14 boys’ and girls’ teams from schools including Islamic Training Institute, PRESEC Staff 4 Basic, Umar Bun Hatab, Queensland International, St. Kizito, Al-Waleed Comprehensive, Benevolent Child, and Nima 1 Basic.

NFL Flag International representative Afia Law said the program aims to give children the opportunity to play flag football and develop their skills.

NFL Flag operates in 12 international markets outside the United States, offering a non-contact version of American football that promotes teamwork and sportsmanship among youth.

Launched in Ghana in 2022 in 10 Accra schools, NFL Flag has expanded to 30 schools nationwide, with Ghanaian teams participating in the 2023 and 2024 Pro Bowl Games.
