The newly confirmed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kpando in the Volta region, Killian Donkor, has outlined an ambitious 60-day action plan aimed at setting a fresh course for development across the municipality.

In his first public address following his confirmation, Mr Donkor made it clear that his leadership would be characterised by action, inclusion, and tangible results.

“In the next 60 days, I will engage all relevant stakeholders on ARM and work to develop localized plans that will drive economic growth, create job opportunities, and improve infrastructure in the municipality,” he declared with conviction.

With these words, Mr Donkor signalled not only the beginning of a new administration but also the start of a potentially transformative period for Kpando.

A roadmap with urgency and intent

The 60-day window outlined by the new MCE is not merely a symbolic gesture; it is a strategic timeline designed to kick-start real progress.

His commitment to “engaging all relevant stakeholders” reflects a dedication to participatory governance—ensuring that chiefs, youth groups, women leaders, civil society, educators, and entrepreneurs all have a voice in the process.

By developing localized plans, Mr Donkor intends to address the unique challenges and opportunities of each community within the municipality. Whether it is improving access roads, revitalising local markets, or strengthening technical and vocational education, the new MCE has prioritised action over empty promises.

Job creation, economic growth, and infrastructure in focus

At the heart of Mr Donkor’s agenda lies the pressing need to create jobs and stimulate the local economy. In a region rich with talent but lacking in opportunities, this focus offers renewed hope, particularly for the youth.

“I will ensure the equitable distribution of resources and expand access to quality water,” he added, addressing two of the municipality’s most critical needs—fair development and essential services.

Leadership rooted in hope and service

Mr Donkor acknowledged the weight of the responsibility he now carries but remained optimistic:

“I am committed to working with you to move our municipality forward as I embark on this new chapter of my life with hope.”

As he steps into office, expectations are high—but so is the energy. With 60 days as his first milestone, Mr Donkor has chosen urgency over complacency, action over rhetoric, and unity over division.
