Bright Botchway, National Deputy Director of the Traders and Artisans Network for Ghana’s National Democratic Congress (NDC), has emphasized the critical need for sustained effort and vigilance within the party’s grassroots to ensure John Mahama’s decisive electoral win.
In an interview addressing the NDC’s prospects in the 2024 elections and its plans for artisans, Mr Botchway underscored the dangers of complacency. He called for intensified action rather than premature celebrations to secure a “one-touch victory” for the NDC on December 7.
“We have not secured the 2024 election yet; more work needs to be done,” Botchway emphasized, urging party members to eschew complacency and strengthen their grassroots presence.
Highlighting the NDC’s commitment to empowering traders and artisans, Botchway outlined plans for a National Entrepreneurship Authority to support youth in acquiring vocational skills without financial constraints. This initiative also includes startup support for traders and a Women’s Bank to aid women entrepreneurs.
Botchway emphasized vital policies such as promoting a 24-hour economy and other transformative measures designed to reshape Ghana’s economic landscape. He believes these policies will resonate with voters and demonstrate the NDC’s vision for a prosperous future.
Addressing the party’s readiness under John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, Botchway assured members their dedication would be recognized and rewarded. He urged perseverance and confidence in Mahama’s ability to lead Ghana towards progress and prosperity.
“Never lose hope. John Dramani Mahama is back to reset the country and build the party once again,” Botchway affirmed, expressing confidence that the NDC would emerge more robust and more appealing to voters in the upcoming election.
Botchway’s call to action underscores the party’s commitment to hard work, grassroots engagement, and policy-driven governance as the NDC prepares for the electoral contest.
