The Communication Director for Asawase Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reciprocated to claims raised by the party’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi that the leadership of the NDC parliamentary group including the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin has betrayed the party by approving some ministerial appointments.
This is as a result of a Facebook post by Sammy Gyamfi a few hours after parliament approved the nomination of three NPP ministers, who were previously rejected. The young lawyer had accused the minority chief whip and MP of Asawase Constituency, Muntaka Mubarak, Minority Chief Whip, Haruna Iddrisu as well as the speaker of parliament and other NDC MPs of being selfish and subjecting the party and its leaders to public ridicule.

In response to this, the NDC Communication Team in Asawase Constituency where Muntaka Mubarak is an MP has defended their leader and the minority group in parliament by alleging that the party’s leadership is rather to be blamed because they are not truthful.
In a press statement, the communication team said, “if one is to talk about betrayal, it is the leadership of the NDC party in which Sammy Gyamfi is part that has betrayed us. It is the leadership of the party that is not being truthful to us, not our hard-working MPs”.
They further called on the party’s National Communication Director, Sammy Gyamfi to desist from throwing attacks on their hard-working member of parliament, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak and his colleagues.
