Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has assured Ghanaians that the National Apprenticeship Programme will be implemented equitably, ensuring fairness and inclusivity for all.

He emphasised that the initiative would prioritise the socio-economic well-being of the youth, irrespective of political affiliations or backgrounds.

Speaking during an interview on Channel One TV on Wednesday, Ayariga, who also serves as the Chairman of the National Apprenticeship Technical Working Team, stressed that the programme is designed to address poverty nationwide.

He highlighted that economic hardship affects individuals across different political divides and should not be viewed through a partisan lens.

“The programme is going to be as fair as possible to every Ghanaian because poverty has no political colour, poverty has no age bracket. Once you are poor, you are poor. You can be NPP and be poor, you can be NDC and be poor,” Ayariga stated.

He reiterated that the programme would be guided by the principle of inclusivity to ensure all deserving youth benefit.

Ayariga further explained that the primary beneficiaries of the initiative would be young people who are eager to acquire practical skills and improve their livelihoods.

“We are looking at youth who are ready to work, who are ready to acquire a skill, who are willing to make ends meet,” he added, underscoring the importance of commitment and readiness among applicants.

The National Apprenticeship Programme is expected to equip young Ghanaians with the technical and vocational skills necessary for sustainable employment.

By enhancing youth employability, the initiative aims to contribute significantly to economic development and poverty reduction across the country.
