Mahama: Aide stops Owusu Bemaph from greeting JM after they met in church (video, photos)
There was a bit of confusion at the Holy Ghost Revival Assemblies of God Church at South Odorkor as Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah met former President John Mahama on Sunday, December 1, 2019.
Both Mahama and Owusu Bempah had been invited by the church to grace their 30th-anniversary celebrations.
Owusu Bempah who had t leave the venue earlier in order to go and preach in his own church decided to go and exchange pleasantries with the former president.
But before Owusu Bempah could get to Mahama and shake his hands, one of the people around the former president stopped him.
In a video and photos from the incident sighted by Yen.com.gh, the Mahama aide could be seen sacking Owusu Bempah from the presence of his boss and directing the ‘man of God’ to go away.
Former President Mahama, on the other hand, is seen in the video pulling back his aide in an obvious bid to tell him not to stop Owusu Bempah.
It is not known what exactly triggered the decision of Mahama’s aide to stop Owusu Bempah from shaking the hands of his boss.
But it is no secret that but Owusu Bempah who predicted the win of President Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2016 elections is considered as an NPP sympathiser.
Apart from reiterating his prophecy of Akufo-Addo winning in 2020 on countless occasions, he has constantly declared Mahama a loser in waiting and has also chastised him on many occasions.
With such a history, it is not surprising that Mahama’s aide was quick to stop Owusu Bempah in his tracks even though the former president looked willing to show magnanimity.
