Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III, new chief of the Kwahu Traditional Area and Ohemaa Akosua Asantewaa, Queen of Kwaafo-Kwawu

Ohemaa Akosua Asantewaa, Queen of Kwaafo-Kwahu, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III on his enstoolment and inauguration as the new chief of the Kwahu Traditional Area.

She wished him wisdom, a long life, and a successful reign.

Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III was officially outdoored at the newly refurbished Abene Palace on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in a colourful ceremony attended by chiefs, elders, and dignitaries from within and beyond Kwahu.

The 54-year-old chartered civil engineer, known privately as Baffour Akoto Osei, ascended the stool following the destoolment of Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II late last year.

Ohemaa Akosua Asantewaa, of the Kwaafoɔ Aduana Kwahu Kingdom, has reiterated her claim to ownership of the entire Kwahu Kingdom.

Speaking to the media after the inauguration, she urged the new chief to avoid the mistakes of his predecessor, alleging that Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II failed to recognise the authority of the Kwaafoɔ Royal Stool as the true mother stool of Kwahu.

She accused the former chief of suppressing, intimidating, and arresting her and other members of the Kwaafoɔ Royal Family with the help of the police and local courts.

“I want Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III to know that Kwahu has an owner, and I, Ohemaa Akosua Asantewaa, am the Kwahuwura. People who know the truth are pretending otherwise due to greed and selfishness. They have formed a cabal against the Kwaafoɔ Royal Family. We stayed in the background for a while, but now we are back for good,” she stated.

Ohemaa Akosua Asantewaa emphasised that she seeks peace, unity, and development, not conflict. She clarified that her goal is not to remove any chief or seize lands but to restore Kwahu’s rightful heritage and glory.

However, she warned that any chief or individual who undermines her authority should be prepared for resistance from the Kwaafoɔ Royal Stool.

“When the stool begins to strike, no one can suppress it. My words come from the supreme stool and the gods of our land. Anyone who opposes my authority will answer to the stool,” she declared.

She further stated that she is awaiting a meeting with the seven great sons of Anantuo Frimpong, whom the Kwaafoɔ Royal Family enstooled as caretaker chiefs in their absence.

“I made them chiefs and entrusted the Kwaafoɔ Aduana Kwahu Stool to them for safekeeping. Now that I am back, it is only reasonable that they return it to me and the Kwaafoɔ family peacefully,” she asserted.

Ohemaa Akosua Asantewaa urged the new chief to seek her counsel, direction, and empowerment. She warned of spiritual consequences should he ignore her call.

She also hinted that she is bound by the supreme stool and the gods to expose individuals—particularly chiefs—who have allegedly manipulated the system for their own interests while sidelining the Kwaafoɔ Royal Family.

“The chiefs, in their attempt to protect their personal gains, have damaged the Kwahu Kingdom. This is why Kwahu is not respected or developed like its contemporaries such as the Ashantis,” she lamented.

She warned that she possesses deep knowledge of the hidden actions of Kwahu chiefs, which she may be forced to reveal if the Kwaafoɔ Royal Stool continues to be disregarded.

She noted that her invitation to the Kwahu Traditional Council for a ‘Mo Ne Yɔ’ gathering was ignored, along with key messages she delivered in media broadcasts.

“Daasebre should not ignore my call. I have important matters to discuss with him, and it is for his own good. I am his auntie, and all the chiefs are my children. There are things he must know if he truly wants to be a great leader,” she added.

Daasebre’s vision for Agriculture

Meanwhile, during his inaugural ceremony, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III announced plans to encourage youth involvement in agriculture.

He revealed that 200 acres of land had been secured and ploughed for farming initiatives, and appealed to the government to provide tractors and modern agricultural equipment to support the project.
