The Member of Parliament for Subin, Eugene Boakye Antwi, has denied allegations that he did not vote for Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, hence the loss of the role of Speaker by the NPP.
In an Okay FM interview monitored by Boakye Antwi, the Mp said his name is being bandied around as the ‘mole’ that connived with the NDC to cause Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye’s defeat.
With such arguments, he challenged someone to come forward with proof or face the ‘Antoa’ deity.
The Subin MP told the people behind the ‘fake evidence’ that he would shelve his Catholic faith for Antoa and invoke curses on them and bring it to an end.
As I ticked my ballot paper, it was seen by all the MPs on the right side. Prior to joining the booth, I ticked my ballot. I’m not doing politics with hatred. The party said that we needed to vote for Mike Oquaye, and I voted for Mike Oquaye. I am an Ashanti, so I will talk to Antoa.’
Those of you who are spreading this data should be careful. One day, someone will curse you. I’m not a kid to be ordered around me by someone.
The party agreed that we were going to vote for Mike Oquaye and that was it. Anyone who saw it knows I voted for Mike Oquaye”, he said.
The leadership of the NPP MPs was also criticized by Boakye Antwi for falling for the tactics of the NDC.
He said that the leadership permitted the NDC to control the speed of the game instead of being cautious.
Everything [that] NPP representatives are aware of is lying about people to the President. Anything at the party that they are fantastic at is backbiting. You could see pure coordination between the NDC leadership in Parliament and their party leadership when the elections were underway.
