The acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), Sammy Gyamfi, has stated that Ghanaians will soon come to understand that not all politicians are the same.

Speaking ahead of the presentation of the 2025 budget statement and economic policy to Parliament, he emphasised the distinction between those who use flattery to deceive for political gain and those who uphold integrity, honouring the social contract they have with the people.

Speaking to JoyNews Parliamentary correspondent, Kweku Asante, Mr Gyamfi emphasised that some politicians prioritise flattering the masses to secure power, while others resort to dishonesty to climb to office without regard for the promises they make to the people.

However, he stressed the importance of integrity in leadership, specifically praising President John Dramani Mahama as a model of such values.

“I am confident that today, Ghanaians will come to the realisation that all politicians are not the same. There are those who flatter to deceive just for purposes of power, and there are those who lie their way into office with no respect to their social contract with the people,” the acting PMMC MD stated.

According to him, leaders like Mr Mahama, have always respected the social contract with their citizens, and stands apart from others in the political landscape.

“There are politicians with integrity, like His Excellency John Dramani Mahama – the man we all follow, the man we all serve, who has respect and regard for his social contract with the people,” he added.

The former spokesperson for the governing party, also highlighted the upcoming budget presentation by the Minister of Finance, suggesting that it will be a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to fulfilling the promises it made during the 120-day social contract and within the party’s manifesto.

“Right from this budget, you are going to see a government that keeps its social contract with the people. You are going to see the Minister of Finance announce a lot of policies in fulfillment of promises we made in our 120-day social contract and in our manifesto,” he assured the public.

Meanwhile, the Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, will today, Tuesday, March 11, present the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament, marking the first comprehensive financial roadmap of the new Mahama administration since assuming office.
