A combined youth group from Nungua and La in the Greater Accra Region have sent a word of caution to the Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong, to stay away from their lands.
The group led by one Nii Okpoti Tatse is alleging that the MP is using his position as a member of the current New Patriotic Party’ government with state protection to forcefully claim some Ga lands which does not belong to him lawfully.
They explained the said land situated at East Legon, under-bridge, near East Legon police station
is a boundary area between La and Nungua of which both have separate judgements from the law court.
An investor by name Osa mensah,
Chief of Okpoglo and deputy head of family of Odoi Atsem we of La and the La judgment creditors along the line secured the consent backing of both Nungua owners and La owners(Odoi Atsem family that upon the approval and blessing of the two owners from La &Nungua, the investor can go on the land to commence development only to be attacked by thugs and land guards allegedly sent and sponsored by Hon.Kennedy Agyepong.
This unlawful act being masterminded by the MP as alleged has continued for three consecutive periods of which all construction works such as fence wall have been destroyed by these land guards.
As if that is not enough, it is alleged that hon. Kennedy Agyepong himself on Saturday 18th July 2020 went to the site with four military and police patrol teams with some macho men and bulldozers to demolish all construction works done on the piece of land.
This distasteful act incurred the wrath and provoked not only commuters on that stretch but even the nearby police.

After engaging in that attack on that faithful day, the MP for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong allegedly took siege of the land amid fierce encounter where his land guards engaged the Regional Police in an exchange of fire at the East Legon site.
Currently, the MP is developing the said land with the aid of some military and policemen, his land guards and some machomen. A case of a real culture of impunity they claim.
The group say all effort to establish who sanctioned the military and the police for such operation from their respective high command remain futile.
Now, Osa-Mensah(the developer), the La family, and the Nungua people have lodged a complaint against Kennedy Agyapong and his thugs to the police for onward legal action.
But even before the legal tussle begins, the youth together with priests and priestesses are warning the Assin North MP to stay away from their land which they claim belongs the Ga Dangbe descendants and not him Kennedy Agyapong.
The youth of La and Nungua are hereby calling on the speaker of parliament and the president of the Republic of Ghana to intervene and ensure that Kennedy Agyepong is bought before the law to avoid any unwanted confusion.
