The Member of Parliament for the Adenta constituency, who doubles as the communication director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Buabeng Asamoah has stated that, the Ghana police service is investigating the unfolding saga surrounding the alleged 500 missing excavators in atransparent manner with all due fairness.
Speaking to Homebase TV, Mr. Buabeng further stated that, the minority in parliament has the right to express their opinion on issues in the country.
He again stressed that the minister of environment, science and technology, Prof. Frimpong Boateng is not scared since he has not committed any crime and will avail himself for any interrogation and investigation by the police.
Going further, he noted that, the government will go in accordance with the police report when all investigations are done.
Also on the same issue, the Member of Parliament for Damango, Adam Mutawakilu, has accused the NPP “BIG WIGS” to be the brain behind the missing excavators.
He further stated that the security personnel have their hands tied and cannot investigate the suspects because of higher political influences from the presidency.
He again stated that, even the president of the republic, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has an interest in illegal mining and believe that made him to be quiet over the missing excavators’ saga.
