Cassandra Twum Ampofo, the Head of Public Relations at the Ghana Education Service (GES), has once again been recognized as one of Ghana’s top Public Relations Officers. This marks the third time she has been listed as one of the Top 10 Women in PR Ghana, solidifying her reputation as a leading voice in the PR and communications industry.

The recognition, organized by Women in PR Ghana, is an esteemed acknowledgment of women in the field of communications and public relations, playing exceptional roles in rolling out campaigns, and shaping brand narratives through impactful storytelling.

Cassandra’s inclusion in the list for the third time, the first in 2019 and second in 2020, highlights her remarkable contributions to strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and public sector PR.

Reacting to the honor, Cassandra expressed her gratitude, saying, “This achievement is not just mine—it’s proof that dedication, passion, integrity and consistency pay off.

A heartfelt thank you to Women in PR for this incredible recognition. To my colleagues, mentors and everyone who has shaped my career over the years, I am deeply grateful..”

She also used the opportunity to encourage female PROs in the public sector, stating that “let this be a reminder that your work matters, your voice is powerful, and your impact is undeniable. Keep pushing boundaries and setting new standards.”

A news release cited on Women in PR Ghana’s website, explained the rigorous and detailed process adopted by a six-member jury who ‘went to town in search of innovation, leadership, strategic thinking, impact, mentorship and most importantly the ability of these practitioners to leverage on digital platforms for wider reach.’

The release continued by disclosing that, ‘In the 2024 edition of our Top 10 Women in PR Ghana, we received 26 nominations from the PR community, following which a six-member jury was tasked to review and shortlist the entries based on the below criteria:

• Must be working or practising public relations or communications with at least six (6) years’ experience
• Must have planned and executed successful campaigns for their organisations and/or clients
• Must have used various mediums (traditional and new media) to share their works as Public Relations Professionals
• Must have been recognized through nominations and awards either on their own behalf or on behalf of their organisations or clients
• Must have engaged in speaking opportunities
• Must have mentored, educated, and supported other PR professionals
• Must have led and championed campaigns that have informed the general public about public relations in Ghana and beyond.

The recognition of Cassandra Twum Ampofo is a testament to the vital role of PR professionals in shaping public discourse and advancing meaningful engagement between institutions and the public. As she continues to lead with excellence, her contributions remain an inspiration to aspiring and seasoned communication professionals alike.

Other honorees include Esther Cobbah, Sophia Kudjordji, Ivy Heward Mills, Shirley Tony Kum, Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, Emma Wenani, Rita Agyeiwaa Rockson and Maame Akua Amoah Twum.
