History was made at Paa Joe Park on Saturday when Adrobaa Roman Catholic Basic School from the Ahafo Region were crowned champions of the 2025 Milo U13 Championship.
The sixth edition of the competition came to a grand finish as Adrobaa etched their name in folklore as first-time winners of the tournament, which returned after a six-year hiatus.
For beating Franko International School from the Western North Region 2-0 in an electrifying final, Adrobaa took home GHS50,000 as cash prize, along with a trophy donated by the legendary Abedi Pele Ayew.
Just a minute into the game, the Ahafo side took the lead through an own goal from John Badu, completely shifting the momentum in their favour.
About eleven minutes into the second half, Danso Dramani doubled the lead for Adrobaa after connecting freely to a set-piece inside the box, sealing victory in an entertaining final.
Adrobaa did not only take home the ultimate prize. Their goalkeeper, Amankwah Sebastian, was adjudged Best Goalkeeper of the tournament for his outstanding performances. He did not concede from the knockout stage and made a big penalty save in their shootout win over Bono East in the quarter-final.
For all the brilliant football they played, Franko International did not leave empty-handed. Their star forward, Righteous Aidoo, won both the Golden Boot for his six goals and the Golden Ball for his overall excellent tournament. Franko also received GHS30,000 for finishing second.
Meanwhile, St. Francis R/C from the Bono Region pocketed GHS20,000 for winning bronze after their 3-2 penalty shootout victory over Advent Reform Institute from the Eastern Region.
Good News Preparatory School from the Central Region was named the Fair Play Team.

Football legend and Milo icon Stephen Appiah, who attended the final, called for better management of the talent emerging from the tournament.
“At times it saddens my heart that after this tournament where are they going? So we have to do something to keep these boys. They are doing it in Europe,” Appiah said.
“Through Milo, we still have hope for Ghana football”

“At times I’m worried that the current generation if they are not playing for the national team who are going to replace them? But through Milo I think that we still have hope that the future is bright for Ghana football.”
