The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe Constituency who doubles as Deputy Minister of Health under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led administration of the New Patriotic Party, Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah has received the Inspiring Female Personality award for the year, 2017 in recognition of her consistency, hard work and commitment towards the advancement of females in Ghana and the entire African continent.
The award which was presented to the illustrious Law maker and Deputy Minister of Health in the full glare of some invited and distinguished personalities who are ministers of state, Members of Parliament, among several others was one of the numerous awards she has received in her entire political and job career as a woman who has distinguished herself excellently in the women front across the country and beyond.
The law maker has a long standing political career close to 3 decades. She was one time the women organizer for the Greater Accra branch of the New Patriotic Party. She later rose through the region to the national level to occupy an enviable position of the National Deputy Women organizer to play adjacent roles to augment efforts made by Hon. Otiko Afisa Djaba, the substantive women organizer, now the Minister for gender, women and children affairs under the present administration of the NPP.
The 2017 Inspiring Female Personality award was presented to Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah by an internationally recognized group which calls themselves as Ghana-Nigeria Youth Organization (GNYO). During the group’s summit held at the magnificent auditorium of the British Council in Accra Yesterday Friday August 4, 2017. The Ghana-Nigeria Youth Organization is an internally established body which has youths drawn from both Ghana and Nigeria.
In an acceptance speech by the Law maker and Deputy Minister of Health, she stated without mincing words that, she is highly humbled by the honour done her. “I am completely shocked to be awarded by such an organization and the award has given me some inspiration to do more to champion the course of females in my constituency, the entire Ghana and beyond” she remarked.
The all time, state woman was on the view that, her award will inspire the youths particularly women in her constituency and the nation at large to do more for the country Ghana.
She was grateful to the Almighty God for making a day possible for her to be celebrated and honoured in the midst of all women and men across the globe.
