No Polio Case recorded in Ghana since 2008 - Health Minister

Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu has revealed that since the year 2008 till date, the country has not recorded any Polio disease in quest to achieving a better healthcare for all.

At the Meet the Press Program organize by the Information Ministry, Health Minister who took his turn to outline Government’s measures in combating diseases in the country, he emphasized that since 2008 due to preventive services that various governments have been offering, there hasn’t been any case of Polio unlike how the disease was rampant over the years.

He also revealed that, since 2003, no measles case has been recorded as well as reducing diarrhea cases in the country especially amongst children.

He was quick to add that, no meningitis case has also been recorded since the beginning of this year.

He expressed optimism that the NPP Government is poised to tackling all these diseases amongst other diseases to help sustain the SDG goals.
