The Northern Regional Police Command has said no arrest has been made yet in connection with the attack on some executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region by some youth suspected to be members of the party’s vigilante arm Aljazeera.
The attack on Saturday, 3 November 2018 happened at the Global Dream Hotel in Tamale where the NDC executives were having a meeting.
The spokesperson for the Northern Regional Police Command, DSP Mohammed Yusif Tanko told Accra FM Monday, 5 November that: “Yes, we received a complaint from the NDC’s Vice-Chairman in the Northern Region, the Communication Director and one other person, who is the former CEO for Buipe Municipal Assembly.
“They said about 15 youth who are members of their own party, stormed the Global Dream Hotel in Tamale and assaulted them when they were having a meeting. So, we are investigating the matter.
“No arrest has been made yet, the complainants said they know some of them and, so, they will assist in the investigations. We are liaising with the party to properly identify the culprits.”
