Nana Addo is capable of addressing the Challenges of the free SHS without foreign aid – Fred Amankwah Sarfo

The aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Fred Amankwah-Sarfo has stated that, the President of the State, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is capable of addressing the challenges of the Free Senior High School (SHS) without Foreign aid.

He said this in response to a question asked by the host Nana Yaa Boaponsem  Agyeman on the morning show ‘Eboboba’ on Homebase tv.

The implementation of the flagship programme Free Senior High School (SHS) policy is being impeded by inadequate classroom block and accommodation.

There have been several viral videos circulating on social media platforms of first-year students, beneficiaries of the free education policy – sleeping  in the open or under trees, exposing them to attacks from both reptiles and robbers.

When asked how the Akufo-Addo administration is handling this issue, Mr. Amankwah-Sarfo said the President putting in place measures to address the situation without foreign aid.

“I am very sure Nana Addo is capable of addressing this issue with foreign aid. Our country has enough resources to generate revenue to fund government policies and programme”

According to him, he didn’t know how passionate the President was about the ‘Ghana beyond Aid’ until he heard the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta speaking at the 3rd Aliu Mahama Memorial Lecture held at the National Theatre.

“Nana Addo is in a hurry to develop the country” he stated.

Meanwhile the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta speaking on the theme ‘Transforming Ghana beyond Aid: How we will get there’, has said the government will revamp all the sectors of the economy to build a “fully fledged middle-income country.”

This will be done by harnessing Ghana’s resources to drive industrialization, Mr Ofori-Atta said.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has set the agenda to wean Ghana off foreign aid through robust revenue mobilization and fiscal discipline.
