MP Supports Communities With Building Materials

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, Mrs. Cynthia Morrison, has presented five bundles of roofing sheets and 120 bags of cement to four communities in her Constituency.

The beneficiary communities are: Agona, Otsenkorang, Nsunan, Edukrom and Krofufu.

The MP also presented 25 plastic chairs per electoral area to all 31 Electoral Areas in the Constituency to be used during social gatherings in their communities.

Mrs. Morrison said the presentation of the roofing sheets and bags of cement was done on request made by the leaders of the various communities to help them construct community centres.

She said the items were purchased from her share of the MP’s Common Fund and asked the communities to be patient with the government since development was gradual.

She used the opportunity to explain parliamentary proceedings and other national issues to the people, emphasizing on US-Ghana Military deal.

Mrs Morrison debunked assertions made by opposition parties that the President Nana Akufo-Addo has sold Ghana’s dignity to United State of America (US) saying, the first US- Ghana military deal started in 1962 under Dr Kwame Nkrumah, first President of Ghana and it came to two National Democratic Congress (NDC) regimes, namely former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Dramani Mahama in 1998 and 2014-15 respectively.

She therefore called on the people to ignore propaganda opposition parties, especially National Democratic Congress (NDC) and their Members of Parliament who were deceiving people about the US- Ghana military deal, since there was no cause for alarm.

The MP said the Government was working hard to improve the well being of the people, especially those in the rural areas who were predominately farmers in order to raise their living standards.

She advised women in the Agona West Constituency to form groups to enable them receive small scale loans to expand their businesses, saying, government was working to open MASOLOC offices in the various districts.
