The ‘Kum Yen Preko’ protest march, according to organisers – the Coalition for Social Justice (CSJ) – is a demonstration against what they say is the economic hardship under the current government.
However, Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, a Health Policy Consultant, a Medical Practitioner and a Ghanaian Politician who served as the Minister for Communications and Spokesperson to the President of the Republic of Ghana has revealed that Nana Akufo-Addo is insensitive.
According to him looking at the number of people protesting around explains the state in which Ghanaians are in and facing in the country.
Mr. Boamah claims that Nana Addo’s government is at a loss of Gh¢8billion. “In less than two years-seven months, President Nana Akufo-Addo has increased fuel 22times. Lorry fare is high, the cost of food is high and the most devastating issue in the country is insecurity.” he exclaimed.
He stated that, journalists who are to report issues in Ghana are attacked on daily basis and killed in a bizzared manner. He noted that during former President John Mahama’s regime there was absolute freedom in the country especially for the press.
He tells government that when they take loan they should use it for what is meant for. “As we speaking Ghana has got a ‘Presidential Jet’ so how come President Nana Akufo-Addo hasn’t come out to say anything concerning the ‘Presidential Jet’ and he goes to rent another jet at an astronomical price? ” he added.
