The Member of Parliament for Krachi West Hon. Helen Adjoa Ntoso has made it known to Parliament that some areas in Ghana are still going through the turbulent times of ‘Dumsor’.
She made this known when she was questioning the Energy Sector Minister in Parliament as to why her constituency was still experiencing Dumsor.
According to her the following areas are still undergoing Dumsor; Krachi West, Krachi Nchumuru and Kpabdai.
She explained that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) claimed to have solved the Dumsor challenge during the 2018 budget reading yet the Dumsor is prevalent and getting out of hand in these areas.
In response to this, the Minister of Energy William Owereku Aidoo told the Chamber that the power outages in the area would be handled in no time therefore residents should be assured that the government of the day was working hard to resolve the power outages in these areas.
Meanwhile Ken Ofori- Atta during the reading of the 2018 ‘Adwuma’ budget on Wednesday, November 15 said the NPP government was able to put an end to the power crisis that caused the collapse of many businesses in the country during the Mahama-administration between 2012- 2016.
