Ignore fare hike rumours

The Road Transport Operators have in a press release on Monday, February 12 denied rumours of an increase in transport fares as being purported at some transport terminals by some groups of people who want to bring their name into disrepute.

The association, however, said they want to assure the general public that there is no such increase, thus, the information should be disregarded and have urged its members to comply with existing fares to avoid any confrontation with the travelling public.

The operators, however, stated that they have an arrangement with the Ministry of Transport to review transport fares periodically and are currently in discussion with them and will inform the general public accordingly.
