Health Minister appeals for One Teaching Hospital One PICU

Health Minister, Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu has appealed to the First Lady of Ghana, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo to help all Teaching Hospitals in the country with Paediatric Intensive Care Units.

He made this known at the commissioning of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital when he bemoaned the rate at which children die every year as a result of lack of lack of PICU in the various hospitals.

Mr Agyeman  Manu said the First Lady and her foundation has done the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital good and the gesture has to be extended to other Teaching hospitals.

The PICU is the busiest children’s unit in Ghana with a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit built to help eradicate child mortality in the country.
