Head coach of the national U-17 team, the Black Starlets, Karim Zito says he is preparing his team to score goals in the game against Togo at the WAFU Zone B U-17 championship.
The Black Starlets of Ghana trained on Thursday ahead of their second Group A game of the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-17 tournament in Niger. The team went through a recovery session after their goalless draw on Wednesday when they took on the host nation.
Following the stalemate on Wednesday, the former Dreams FC coach has been the taking the boys through some goal scoring exercises.
‘What is gone is gone and I am working with the players to get things right. So many things happened during the match on Wednesday and so, we are working on things like goal scoring, moving into space and learning to keep things simple for ourselves,’ Coach Zito said.
“These things are very important because of the nature and size of the pitch. The players struggled with that and we need to simplify things to help us get what we want,’ he added.
The team will need to win against Togo and or worst, get a score draw to edge Niger out based on goals scored.
Niger drew goalless with Ghana and Togo and so, goals for Ghana and Togo will put them in a position to make it to the semi-finals.
