Organizers of the Ghana Premier League, Premier League Board [PLB] are planning to play a novelty league.
The 2017/18 campaign is set to kick off February next year.
The 2017/18 season is likely to clash with the 2018 FIFA World Cup that will be held in Russia and it is set to kick off on June.
According to reports, the Ghana Football Association and the Premier League Board are contemplating on organizing a novelty League in order to help synchronize the local league to meet up with the European calendar and also prevent the season from conflicting with the World Cup tournament in Russia.
Ghana last played a novelty League in 2005 which was won by Hearts of Oak after beating rivals Kotoko in the finals.
The Novelty League will be played in two zones (Northern and Southern), with the winners of each sector facing off in the finals to declare the overall Champions for the season.
