After losing to newly promoted side to the Ghana Premier League, Karela United in the ongoing GHALCA G8 tournament, supporters of Cape Coast-based Ebusua Dwarfs have called on the management of the club to sack Bashiru Hayford.
Dwarfs were humiliated by 4:0 at the Cape Coast Stadium in the second match on Wednesday; conceding ten goals in two matches in the ongoing tournament.
After conceding all the four goals in the first half against Karela United, the players vowed not to play the second half of the match with most of the senior players removing their boots.
Speaking to the after their loss, the former Ashgold trainer disclosed to the press that his swift intervention made the players came back on the pitch but if the supporters want him out the team, they shouldn’t crusade for the exit of his head but rather his whole body.
“I went to the dressing room and I saw the players had removed their boots, quarrelling that old players are gone and because of that, the understanding and the telepathy is not there” narrated the coach.
“I told them I’m just coming in so if they think they want me, they should quickly put on their boots,” said Bash.
“Personally, I was surprised. I don’t know the reason why they did that. Moreover, the supporters who want my head can come for my whole body. I’m not yet in.
“I haven’t signed any contract with the club so if they said I have to make way for another person, I think they can do that fast” the outspoken Bashir Hayford stated.
