The Eastern regional branch of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (GLOGSAG) has been served with an interlocutory injunction from an Accra High Court restraining the group from going ahead with its polls scheduled for today, 8 November 2018.
The suit was filed by the suspended Regional Chairman of CLOGSAG, Rev Asante Wiafe.
According to Rev Wiafe, allowing the election to come off will amount to disenfranchising him and also preventing him from running for re-election, if he so wished to do.
Rev Wiafe is also praying the court to have CLOGSAG reinstate him as the rightfully elected Regional Chairman.
Rev Wiafe was suspended earlier in the year until further notice by the National Executive Committee over a press release he issued, in which he called on the government to pay CLOGSAG members their Interim Market Premium, which, he said was long overdue.
